That’s right, the new era of rail travel is officially here, and it is strictly good vibes only.

These aren't your granddaddy’s train cars. Built for kicking back and watching the world drift by, Amtrak’s new fleet comes loaded with upgrades to keep your temperature cool and your spirit light:
Panoramic Windows: Big, beautiful windows made for soaking in every bit of scenery, from lush green forests to coastal water views.
First-Class Chill: Ergonomic seats with adjustable headrests so you can catch a quick midday snooze without a stiff neck.
Stay Plugged In (Or Don't): Every seat comes with its own power outlet, USB port, and upgraded free Wi-Fi, perfect for queuing up a favorite playlist.
Pacific Northwest Style: The first fleet sports an easygoing evergreen, cream, and mocha palette inspired by the Cascade range.
Smooth & Accessible Navigation: Automated steps, wide accessible seating, and six touchless-control restrooms per trainset to keep things easy and hassle-free.
A Better Café Car: Upgraded food and cold drinks inspired by local Pacific Northwest flavors.
Where to Catch the First Wave (Rolling Out Today!)
If you want to be one of the first to feel that smooth new ride under your feet, head up to the Pacific Northwest. The new Airo fleet is making its big splash on the Amtrak Cascades line—connecting Eugene, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, B.C.
Starting today, two brand-new Airo trainsets are running these four daily trips:

Amtrak has eight of these sleek trains coming to the Cascades corridor through early 2027, slowly replacing the older fleet so everyone can ride in comfort.
What's Next on the Horizon?
Don't worry if you aren't out on the West Coast just yet. Amtrak ordered 83 of these Airo trainsets, and they’ll slowly be making their way across the country over the next few years.
East Coast travelers on the Northeast Regional (connecting Boston, New York, Philly, and DC) are next in line, with testing already underway and passenger runs slated for late 2027. After that, routes like the Empire Service, Keystone, Downeaster, and Palmetto will get their turn to ride the wave.
